2021 Here We Come

2020 has been the worst year ever. So, in a nutshell: we arrived back in Fremantle on 10th March 2020 after cruising around the Indian Ocean. 13 days after leaving Phuket the "virus" left Phuket and followed us all the way down the east coast of Africa.

One stop was Zanzibar, where Freddie Mercury was born. As grubby and as crowded as it was Zanzibar was amazing.

Madagascar wouldn't let us berth. There was a barricade at Reunion Island but some passengers managed to get off the ship and into town. Mauritius closed their port so we spent the last 8 days at sea and on our way back to Fremantle and home. There was no "virus" on our ship, Sun Princess, so we didn't have any qualms about catching it. Soon after arriving home we realised how serious it was and started self isolating. Not long after the state shut the border, no one in, no one out.

While in lockdown and closed borders I was busy with my art. Luckily, my Arthouse is quite large and I have plenty of room to throw paint around, or just sit at a table and create with paper!

On another note and another milestone, I turned 70 last month. Had 42 family and friends turn up to help me celebrate and had the best time ever.

It is almost Christmas and our borders are finally open to the rest of Australia. International travel is still not an option other than Australians wanting to come home. When they do, it is 2 weeks isolation.

So, Merry Christmas to you all and I hope and pray that 2021 is a better year for us all.
